We remember with pleasure and respect Bill Brill of Annapolis, Maryland, and note with sorrow his passing.
Bill was a friend of Kosovo who directly helped many Kosovars overcome the scars of the conflict. Bill first made contact with Balkan Sunflowers in 2007 at the request of Doris Buffett of the Sunshine Lady Foundation. Bill’s visit and subsequent help was an invaluable step in the development of the Learning Centers Network program. Bill visited Kosovo for the last time in December 2008. It was a chance for him to see a number of families and many people whose lives he had personally contributed so much to.
