Some of Kosovo’s Most Disadvantaged Children – New Hope PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 07 September 2012
May we wind our way to this story with a small historical prologue? In 2011, Balkan Sunflowers produced and premiered a documentary film <i>Nachi Palem Khere </i>(Never Back Home). Nachi Palem Khere was conceived in 2003 by Sami Mustafa, who was then beginning his journey in video, in the first BSF video program in Plemetina village, which produced a short work, Welcome to Plemetina. Sami began filming near the village at a camp for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). Officially, refugees are outside of one’s home country; IDPs are essentially refugees within one’s own country. Sami continued following the life of the camp for more than seven years.

Per dikend eshte thjeshte vetem nje thenie e urte e per dikend eshte motiv.

Sanity in a healthy body PDF Print E-mail

Astrit Rexhaj

Healthy mind in healthy body: For someone it is merely a wise saying , but for some other people it serves as motivation. Understand it as you wish, but it is important to understand it right.

For me personally it has been more than a saying; it was a motivation, it was inspiration, it has been a motto. As a way to achieve optimum health, I chose sport. I chose not sport as a profession; I chose it as a recreation, as a new way of life. But, beyond numerous health benefits, sport is also a good form to socialize and establish relationships and contacts with many new people who then become your friends. In any event, it has happened to know new people, who have become good friends with whom I spent time.

BSF first to create government-mandated Action Groups PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 31 May 2012
The Ministry of Education, Science & Technology has released an administrative order setting out the general principles for “establishing and strengthening” of teams with two main goals: preventing school dropouts and dealing with non-registration of children in compulsory elementary school education.

It foresees the creation of “teams” that are not part of the official administrative functions of the school, but will work closely with the schools representing the students, parents, and teachers. These teams will communicate with the school and the parents on one hand and incite communication with outside school institutions and education-focused organizations.

EVS is over - Gosia's Story PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 31 May 2012

I am writing this, when my ticket has already been bought and my flight is in 3 days. I’ve spent nine months of my life in Kosovo, and now this chapter is over.

How do you feel, when you're reading a really good book, and then you finish it? There is some satisfaction inside “this was really good stuff”, and on the other hand “why is it over? At least one chapter more, please!”.
